Man Faints and Dies After Measuring Radiation Levels at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant

On June 14, 2024, a man in his 50s, an employee of Tokyo Power Technology, collapsed and died after measuring radiation levels outside near reactor Unit 2 at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Despite wearing protective gear, he suddenly fainted in the rest area and could not be revived after being rushed to a medical facility in Fukushima Prefecture. Tokyo Electric Power Company, where the man worked, stated that his death was likely unrelated to his work, as he did not show any symptoms before or after the task. The exact cause of death remains undisclosed at the request of his family.
