Early this morning at 1:44, a man fell from the spire of Keelung Tower and was found lifeless in a pool of blood. The 48-year-old man, surnamed Zhou, fell from a high place in the tower, causing a huge noise that frightened onlookers, leading them to call emergency services. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Zhou was pronounced dead; Keelung City's Cultural Affairs Bureau announced the temporary closure of Keelung Tower for inspection. The new landmark which opened at the end of last year will undergo repairs to damaged facilities and enhance staff training and safety measures, especially at high-risk areas like the spire, before reopening. The bureau expressed regret for the accident and promised to support Zhou's family and provide necessary assistance.
