A man surnamed Liao in Taipei was fined 5,000 NT dollars for crashing his car into the steel flowerbed in front of the Presidential Office while shouting at the guards twice, with police finding gas guns and a machete inside his vehicle. Liao claimed he intended to bring attention to societal issues and carried the weapons for self-defense, but the court dismissed his appeal, stating his actions posed a serious threat to public order. The first incident occurred on November 12, 2023, while the second took place at the Presidential Office entrance, leading to the conviction and fine.
