On the morning of June 29, 2024, a man in Taipei City was riding a motorcycle with his wife when a 90cm long rebar fell and hit him. He stopped in pain to check his arm that suffered a tear and received three stitches at the hospital. The person in charge of the nearby construction site denied the rebar was from their site, but the city's construction management department determined it was a site neglect, imposing a fine of 90,000 and ordering a work stoppage.
