Man Goes on Rampage with Samurai Sword, Injures Taxi Driver for Refusal to Board, Prosecutor Grants Detention

A man surnamed Zhang tried to take a taxi to Taoyuan but was refused by the driver, leading him to fiercely attack the taxi with a samurai sword, injuring the driver's back. Police arrested Zhang, who has a criminal record of drug use and violent attacks, and the Shilin District Prosecutor's Office granted detention. Zhang, covered in tattoos, clashed with two taxi drivers, leading to a quarrel when they refused to board him. Zhang, holding a samurai sword, attacked the taxi and the driver, causing damage to the vehicles. The incident unfolded in Taipei's Tianmu area and resulted in the driver being injured but saved by the police intervention.
