A murder case occurred in Chiayi City where a man surnamed Chen climbed a ladder to break into his ex-wife's boyfriend's house and fatally stabbed the man with a knife. The boyfriend's son, thinking it was a burglary, tried to resist but was also injured. Chen later fled to a motel where he reportedly committed suicide.
