A man surnamed Chen in Chiayi City committed a murder-suicide, killing his ex-wife's current boyfriend before fleeing to a nearby hotel and ending his own life. Prior to the incident, Chen posted a family photo on Facebook and blamed his ex-wife and her boyfriend for his perceived failures in life. The investigation revealed the violent nature of the attacks, with the boyfriend sustaining fatal wounds and the son injured but out of danger. After a dramatic confrontation with the police, Chen ultimately took his own life. Detailed examinations of the bodies were scheduled to ascertain the cause of death for both victims.
