A 37-year-old man surnamed Huang, suspected of drug addiction, attempted consecutive robberies at convenience stores in Linkou and Wugu districts in New Taipei City on June 12. Despite brandishing a knife, he was unsuccessful in both attempts as store clerks resisted, resulting in him fleeing without any loot. Tracked down by police to Wufeng, Taichung, on June 14, he was arrested for attempted robbery. Huang, with a history of drug offenses, had donned a ghost mask during the attempted robberies while demanding money from store clerks before ultimately leaving empty-handed.
