Recently in Taichung's Fengyuan District, a smart bus stop sign in the 'Taifeng Community' was maliciously damaged by a man using a bottle, resulting in a shattered screen. The police have identified a 56-year-old man named Zhang and are investigating him for the crime of damaging public property, which could lead to a maximum of 5 years in prison. The smart bus stop sign, capable of displaying information and providing route maps, is maintained by an outsourced company and monitored for vandalism. The Taichung City Transportation Bureau attributes the frequent malfunctions to insufficient sunlight for the solar-powered sign and has made adjustments for stable power supply. Authorities urge the public to stay calm in such situations and avoid damaging public property as it could lead to criminal charges.
