A man surnamed Wang from Taoyuan was fined NT$7,000 for publicly insulting a doctor in the emergency room at Lin-Kou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital last November. Wang, impatient with the wait, verbally abused the doctor in Minnan dialect, using vulgar language and threats. Despite admitting his wrongdoing, Wang has not sought reconciliation with the doctor. The court found his actions disrespectful and degrading, leading to the penalty. The case is open for appeal.
