Man in Trouble! Unemployed Man Learns to Grow Marijuana Online, Police Seize 207 Plants Worth Over 12 Million NTD

On July 1, 2024, Taichung City Criminal Investigation Bureau discovered a 55-year-old suspect surnamed Huang who was illegally cultivating and selling marijuana in a rented house in Nantou, despite not having any agricultural background. Huang purchased marijuana seeds from abroad through illegal channels and learned to cultivate them online. Police found 207 marijuana plants at his residence, valued at least 12 million NTD. Marijuana is a classified second-class drug in Taiwan, and the public is advised not to try breaking the law out of curiosity.
