A man from Hsinchu, Taiwan, known as Ah-Qiang, got married to a Thai national in July 1992, but was imprisoned for drug offenses just 1 year into their marriage. After serving time for 5 months, he found out that his wife had disappeared without a trace, leading him to file for divorce after 19 years of no contact. The Hsinchu District Court ruled in favor of the divorce, stating that the marriage had irreparably broken down due to lack of communication and support between the couple for almost two decades.
