In Chiayi, Taiwan, a 44-year-old man committed a brutal murder by climbing a ladder into his ex-wife's boyfriend's home and fatally stabbing him, leading to the boyfriend's immediate death. The man's son, who tried to intervene, was also injured in the attack. After the incident, the perpetrator fled to a nearby hotel, where he engaged in a standoff with the police before shooting himself, succumbing to his injuries.
