A shocking murder case in Xizhou, Changhua, Taiwan unfolded at the end of last year, where a man surnamed Lai fatally stabbed his girlfriend, known as the 'Guava Princess,' with a watermelon knife 25 times before fleeing. Recently, Lai, the suspect, applied for release on bail due to diabetes medication needs after his remand period ended. However, when questioned, his accomplice surnamed Zhang unintentionally disclosed Lai's plan to hide in Meishan, Chiayi, following the murder, leading to the judge ruling that Lai still had a risk of flight and decided to extend his detention for 2 months. The tragic incident stemmed from emotional and financial disputes between Lai and his girlfriend, as he was dissatisfied with her being referred to as the 'Guava Princess' locally. The case is still under investigation with Lai being held for further 2 months.
