Recently, in New Taipei City, three people talking on the street had their phones snatched and were assaulted with a safety helmet by a group from across the street playing with airsoft guns, mistaking the phone usage as informing the police. One of them grabbed an airsoft gun, resembling a riot control weapon, and after a few moments, he dashed across the street to attack. Despite the gun being non-lethal, the scare prompted an assault that led to injuries and legal consequences. The incident serves as a warning about the potential dangers of brandishing airsoft guns in public situations.
