In China, a man who had been having an affair for three years with a woman named Wang resorted to poisoning her with drugs in fear of his family being destroyed when Wang demanded he marry her or she would expose their extramarital affair. After the woman's body was found in a hotel room, the man was identified as the culprit through CCTV footage and was sentenced to death, with a two-year reprieve, for intentional murder. The man was also ordered to compensate the woman's family with over 70,000 RMB (approximately 31,000 NTD).
