A Thai migrant worker in Chanshing township's 'Rouzongjiao Beach' in Changhua almost met a dangerous end while playing in the water and was finally rescued in the early hours of the next day after being carried out by the tide. His female friend with long legs rushed to check on him. The incident occurred near the Chanshing Lixian South Fourth Road Water Purification Plant. Authorities including the coast guard and firefighting teams were dispatched for the rescue. The man, who was in his thirties, had been swept away while playing in the water with a male companion. They were near the water purification plant, and only he was swept away. Fortunately, he was found clinging to an inflatable raft about 100 meters offshore, showing signs of hypothermia but conscious. The man explained that he was swept into the water by a wave and managed to climb onto the raft for help. Authorities advise the public to use lifebuoys on the riverside and call 119 for help if they see people playing or swimming in the water and in need of assistance.
