Man Pretends to be Penniless for Train Fare, Caught Cheating by Keen-eyed Metro Police

In a recent incident, Metro Police Team Leader Zhao Jinlong and officer Ding Minglun, while on patrol duty at Taipei Metro Station, recognized a man who had borrowed money from people inside the station and later returned to the same spot to commit fraud. The officers detained him and transferred the case to the Zhongzheng Police Station for investigation on suspicion of fraud. The man had tricked a young woman into lending him money by claiming he lost his wallet and did not have enough cash for a train ticket back to Kaohsiung. Upon realizing the fraud, the woman reported to the police, leading to the swift capture of the suspect. The Metro Police Team cautioned the public to be wary of individuals who exploit others' kindness to deceive and cheat them out of money, stressing the importance of reporting such incidents to the authorities to stop such misconduct.
