Reported about 1 year ago
On July 7, 2024, a man named Hong drifted at sea near Fiee Bay Beach in Wanli, New Taipei City. He fell asleep while floating in the water after taking a swim with a float ring the night before and woke up the next day around noon, having drifted nearly 19 hours offshore. Rescued by passing boats, he was found shirtless on the float, brought aboard the rescue vessel, hydrated, and thankfully suffered no major injuries. Despite being weak, he refused further treatment upon arrival at the hospital.
