FTNN News reported that in September of last year, a chain bar in Ximending was destroyed by a man in black clothes who was later identified as a 50-year-old man surnamed Xiao. Upon being caught, Xiao claimed that he heard someone calling for help inside the bar, prompting him to commit the crime in an attempt to rescue the individual. The Taipei District Court sentenced Xiao to 30 days in jail for vandalism. The incident resulted in significant damage to the bar's property, including costly repairs to the windows and security system. The suspect's rationale for the vandalism arose from his alleged belief that someone needed help inside the establishment.
