On June 21, 2024, a man surnamed Lin fatally stabbed his friend Li after being criticized for his impolite manner of speaking on the phone. Lin, accompanied by his girlfriend and another man, drove to Li's residence in Nuannuan District, Keelung City, to confront him. A physical altercation ensued, during which Lin took out a folding knife and stabbed Li in the chest, resulting in his death. After a three-hour manhunt, the police arrested Lin at a fishing port in Jinshan. Lin confessed that he felt insulted by Li's comments over the phone before losing control and committing the crime.
