A recent incident of people fighting for priority seats on the MRT and trains has brought the issue of priority seating to the forefront again. Singer-songwriter Yao Guanyu unintentionally sat on a priority seat while busy editing a video on the Taichung MRT. He was stared at by an elderly couple, prompting him to quickly change seats when he realized his mistake, eliciting a cute response that amused fans. Yao Guanyu, who debuted in the music industry in April with his first single 'OK, That’s It', is popular on Instagram with 13,000 followers. He jokingly expressed fear of being attacked after sitting on the priority seat and later reflected on the misuse of such designated seats.
