In Hualien City, a man in a black raincoat and mask was caught on surveillance stealing 10 pairs of limited edition branded sneakers from a residential building. The thief systematically destroyed the surveillance cameras on each floor, rented a motorcycle to potentially create an alibi, and also sprayed paint on the cameras. The victim, who suffered a loss of over 80,000 yuan, raised awareness through social media about the incident, prompting caution among residents against thieves. The police are investigating with the suspect's identity known and planning to hand over the case to the prosecutor’s office in Hualien.
