On June 30, 2024, a man in New Taipei City went to a police station to surrender for walking without a license, but was turned away due to not driving or riding a vehicle. A few days later, he returned with a brick and threw it at the duty station out of anger towards the police's attitude. Luckily, the police officer was able to avoid the attack, suffering only a minor injury to the ear.
