In Yilan County, Taiwan, a man in his 40s surnamed Li violently attacked police officers and damaged a patrol car after being stopped for not properly fastening his motorcycle helmet buckle and using a mobile phone while riding. The man became enraged when the police attempted to issue a fine and proceeded to remove his helmet and smash the patrol car's windshield. Two officers subdued and arrested the man on the spot, charging him with obstructing official duties. During the altercation, one officer suffered a fractured finger and abrasions, while Li sustained minor injuries. Both were treated at nearby hospitals. Yilan Police Division stressed the importance of not resorting to violence and urged the public to maintain rationality and seek legal recourse if in disagreement with law enforcement actions.
