On June 20, 2024, in New Taipei City, a man named Qiu, along with two others, ambushed his friend Lin in a parking lot near a shrimp fishing spot following a previous altercation in May. Upon being spotted, Qiu's fleeing counterpart alerted passersby who then informed the authorities. Concerned about being recognized as a wanted individual, Qiu jumped into the Zhonggang Drain to evade capture. Police and emergency personnel arrived at the scene to search the area.
