According to Central News Agency on June 17, 2024, temperatures are expected to remain hot over the next week while a front approaches Taiwan. Brief showers are anticipated in the western half on the 18th morning to afternoon, with partly cloudy skies during the day. The Taipei area and eastern Taiwan could see temperatures reaching 36 degrees. However, from the 19th to the 20th, there will be afternoon thunderstorms with rainfall patterns changing due to the front's movements. Less rain can be expected towards the end of the week. Highs are forecasted to reach 33 to 35 degrees across the week, with the possibility of 36-degree temperatures in Taipei Basin and the Hualien Rift Valley, with chances of gusty winds in the southeast.
