Central News Agency, June 21, 2024, 3:24 AM: Minister of Transportation Lee Meng-yan announced plans to accelerate the improvement of 799 intersections with central government subsidies, with 400 to be completed within 3 months and all 799 by the year's end. The Pedestrian Traffic Safety Facilities Regulation, passed in May, was originally set to be implemented by the end of the year but has now been moved up to October 1. The government aims to improve dangerous intersections, school surroundings, and provincial road intersections to enhance pedestrian safety, with various ministries and local governments cooperating to meet these goals.
