After years of investigation and national attention, architect Rex Heuermann was apprehended near the Empire State Building by law enforcement officers for his connection to a 13-year homicide case involving young female victims on Long Island. Initially charged with three counts of first-degree murder in 2009 and 2010, Heuermann's arrest was made possible by evidence linking him to multiple murders, including through DNA found on a pizza crust and hair from the victims' remains. Heuermann, who maintains his innocence, is now facing additional murder charges and the case continues to unfold.
