Airbus executive Gilberto Peralta stated that complicated market conditions, including judicial uncertainty and high fuel prices, have discouraged foreign airlines from establishing operations in Brazil. Despite the removal of rules limiting foreign investment in airlines in 2018, Brazil's aviation market is still dominated by Azul, Gol, and LATAM. Peralta highlighted Brazil's strong consumer protections that make it easy for passengers to sue airlines, as well as recent calls for reduced jet fuel costs. Airbus aims to increase its global production capacity and expects stability from competitor Boeing amidst quality issues affecting aircraft deliveries.
