A Maryland family's SUV burst into flames while they slept, with the sound of exploding airbags waking them up as the vehicle burned in their driveway. The family, consisting of parents Vicki and Philip Hill and their 5-year-old twins and a 7-year-old, stated that if the SUV had been parked in their garage, it could have caused a more severe explosion due to its proximity to the gas line. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the Hills suspect it may be related to the ABS actuator pump seal in the vehicle's braking system, which had been previously worked on. Nissan, the vehicle's manufacturer, has opened an investigation into the incident and plans to reach out to the family.
