Reported about 1 year ago
Due to the unstable geological conditions caused by earthquakes and heavy rains in Hualien, a huge boulder fell onto the railway tracks at the entrance of the Hualien-Heping=Chongde tunnel on the east straight line today (4th), creating a large hole in the ground and causing the tracks to crack and twist. The east straight line was temporarily closed for emergency repairs, with the expectation of completing the repairs by tomorrow morning (5th) to resume dual-line operations.
