A major fire broke out at the Xishan landfill site in Miaoli City, burning an area of about 1 hectare, with ground and air forces cooperating to extinguish the fire. Thick smoke billowed into the sky, and despite immediate response from the fire department, the fire continued to spread, posing a serious threat with the surroundings engulfed in flames. Firefighters are actively working to contain the blaze.
