On the morning of June 30, 2024, a fire broke out at a tin factory in the Wugu District of New Taipei City, with witnesses reporting black smoke billowing from the factory around 7 p.m. Upon receiving the report, 49 fire trucks and 76 firefighters were dispatched to the scene to contain the intense fire. While no individuals were reported trapped, the contents inside the factory remain unknown as efforts to reach the factory owner are ongoing. Firefighters continue their rescue efforts at the site.
