On June 30, 2024, around 7 p.m., a tin factory in Wugu District, New Taipei City, caught fire with thick smoke billowing out. Over a hundred firefighters were dispatched to extinguish the fire, and residents in the area were advised to close doors and windows and wear masks when going outside. The fire was contained within the factory premises, estimated to have affected an area of about 500 ping.
