May Reserves Hit Second Highest in History

Reported about 1 year ago

On June 11, 2024, the Central Bank announced that the daily average reserves for May increased slightly by 26 billion NT dollars, reaching 6.3 trillion 979 billion NT dollars, the second highest in history. This increase is mainly attributed to the interest rate hikes by the Central Bank in Q1 and the heightened short-term funding demand due to the tax season in May. It is projected that market funds will remain tight as the end of the June quarter approaches, along with half-year business settlements and the third-quarter dividend payment wave.
