Without amending the budget law in 2025, Hsinchu City, which has the lowest tax return rate in Taiwan, Mayor Gao Hong-an plans to visit the Kuomintang and People First Party caucuses with the city government and council team. Originally, this visit was planned by the Kuomintang Hsinchu City party, with expected attendance by former Mayor Han Kuo-yu. However, as the focus shifted to the city government, and with Han having two prior engagements that day, his attendance might be in doubt. Mayor Gao emphasizes the importance of tax allocation reform, with different party proposals increasing total allocations. The visit aims to address the discrepancy in tax contributions versus return rates in the city.
