At the 2025 World Sports Games for Middle-aged and Elderly in Taipei, New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yi-yi, who will step down in 2026, faces speculation on his successor. Although a survey shows Taipei Deputy Mayor Lee Sichuan with the highest support, Hou seems inclined towards Deputy Mayor Liu Heran. When questioned about accepting Lee Sichuan, Hou stayed silent for 3 seconds, saying it's far from the election. Taipei Mayor Jiao Wan'an then sang a song, with Hou praising his good voice. Despite being encouraged to sing, Hou declined, emphasizing his dedication to the betterment of both Taipei and New Taipei City. Jiao Wan'an also referenced his influence as 'Wan'an Tight Hug,' with Hou laughing beside him.
