The proposed parliamentary reform by the Executive Yuan was rejected as expected, but Mayor Ko Wen-je, the chairman of the People's Party, stated that this is not the final destination of the ruling party's political operations. Ko explained that even if constitutional interpretation and recalls fail, the ruling party may resort to intense public protests to hinder parliamentary hearings. He emphasized the importance of amending the Budget Act and criticized the ruling party's stance on the issue, asserting that the People's Party's version offers a rational and practical compromise to address the long-standing need for revision. Ko announced a briefing on the party's position at the National Assembly tomorrow evening.
