McDonald's is calling out the US restaurant industry for its unequal wage policies that allow tipped wages, enabling managers to pay servers less than minimum wage as long as tips make up the difference. CEO Chris Kempczinski highlighted the issue during a CNBC interview, stressing that workers should receive a fair minimum wage across all states. He also mentioned that this policy contributes to lower poverty and employee turnover rates. In light of these concerns, McDonald's has separated from the National Restaurant Association over policy disagreements.
