McDonald's has decided to conclude its partnership with IBM, where they have been testing artificial intelligence technology at select drive-thrus since 2021. While the automated order taker test is ending, McDonald's is considering exploring voice ordering solutions, stating that voice ordering will be part of their future. There have been complaints about the technology's accuracy, particularly in interpreting accents and dialects. Despite this, other fast food chains like Wendy's and White Castle are also exploring AI implementations for their services.
