McDonald's has launched a $5 value meal featuring a choice of a McDouble burger or McChicken sandwich, along with four-piece chicken McNuggets, small fries, and a small soft drink in an effort to bring customers back following a challenging first quarter. Despite the potential hit on margins, franchisees hope this limited-time offer will drive more traffic to McDonald's restaurants. Analysts believe the value menu will entice customers to purchase additional items to boost profitability and address concerns about rising prices. Other fast-food chains like KFC and Burger King have also introduced similar value meals recently.
