On July 3, 2024, the Mechanical Association held a committee meeting to discuss strategies for the low-carbon transformation of the mechanical industry. The association urged the government to provide subsidies for the purchase of domestically produced high-efficiency production equipment by manufacturers to transition into AI industrialization and automation, aiming to guide domestic industries towards green manufacturing and enter the international high-level supply chain. They emphasized the importance of replacing old production equipment and process improvements in the next phase of the net-zero transition work, in response to the imminent carbon tax imposition and the need for assistance in calculating carbon footprints and obtaining referenceable carbon coefficients by many local manufacturers.
