On June 27, 2024, a parliamentary reform bill passed in cooperation between the blue and white camp in the legislature faced rejection in the executive branch's review request, leading to President Lai Ching-te, the green camp's legislative party, and the executive branch applying for a constitutional interpretation. Media veteran Chang Yu-hsuan bluntly stated that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) launching a constitutional interpretation is the 'least intelligent move,' as it may not assist in Lai Ching-te's approval ratings and could potentially anger blue camp supporters. President Lai Ching-te filed a constitutional interpretation case on June 24 regarding the parliamentary reform bill. Chang Yu-hsuan further emphasized that regardless of the outcome, the DPP's move is likely to backfire and negatively impact their political standings.
