With the opening of the Taipei Dome and the subsequent opening of department stores, storefronts in the Songshan business district have seen rental prices exceed NT$10,000 for the first time. Landlords optimistic about the district's development potential have brought in substantial foot traffic, resulting in many businesses receiving rent increase notices. However, some in the food and beverage industry feel the influx of people may not necessarily benefit all businesses, especially those in smaller alleyway shops facing greater rental pressure. The district has seen rents rise by 20-30% since the pandemic, with some areas now reaching NT$10,000 per ping. The presence of brands near the Songshan Creative Park entrance, such as a skincare brand with a monthly rent of NT$170,000 for a 14.3-ping space, has driven up prices due to good exposure and the arrival of Eslite's 24-hour store at the Dome, raising the overall rent levels in the district.
