As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, American shoppers are expected to spend less this holiday compared to the previous year, with consumer spending slowing down. Consumers are projected to spend an average of $297 per person, which is a 17% decrease from last year. The top categories where consumers will spend the most this holiday weekend include food and beverages, clothing and apparel, dining out, party decor, and entertainment. However, a significant portion of Americans plan to skip shopping entirely and wait until Monday in hopes of finding better deals.
