Reported 6 months ago

MercadoLibre, a Latin American e-commerce giant, expects its investments in Brazil to surpass the initial forecast of 23 billion reais due to higher-than-expected sales. The local marketplace head, Fernando Yunes, mentioned the revised capital expenditure plan remains undisclosed but includes hiring 11,000 people in Brazil this year, up from 6,500. The company plans to open two new distribution centers in Porto Alegre and Brasilia, in addition to the previously announced center in Recife.
