Meta Platforms has been ordered by a Brazilian court to pay up to $3.62 million for allowing fake advertisements misusing the name of retailer Havan. The judge ruled that Meta must disable ads that were not contracted by Havan or face increased fines, citing inadequate security in ad sales that mislead consumers. Havan claims that these false ads, which previously resulted in fraud against customers, portray a significant issue in safeguarding its brand and rights.
