Mexico Establishes Tomato Export Minimum Prices to Address US Trade Issues

Reported 1 day ago

Mexico has set minimum prices for fresh tomato exports to the US in an effort to regain market access following the imposition of anti-dumping duties by the Trump administration. This move aims to prevent price distortions in tomato exports, as US growers have accused their Mexican counterparts of unfair pricing. The US Commerce Department has announced a duty over 17%, while the new minimum prices represent significant increases, with a 40% rise for round tomatoes and 26% for cherry and grape varieties.
