The Mexican government has initiated construction of the $540 million Wellness Development Hub in Huamantla, aimed at boosting industry and investment. This is the first of 15 proposed regional centers designed to promote domestic and foreign investments as part of President Claudia Sheinbaum's Plan México, which targets $277 billion in investments by 2030. The hub will occupy 131 acres and is expected to create 300,000 jobs, contributing 1.5% to the country's GDP during Sheinbaum's term. Initial investors include companies from Mexico, Germany, and the U.S.
